They decided they needed the hundreds column to total as close to 900 as possible and the tens and ones columns to total 100. Some children broke this down so that the tens column had to total as close to 90 as possible and the ones column had to total as close to 10 as possible. The children worked really hard to try and beat their partners and a few children even managed to get the total of 1000!
